Your Mexican home, staff and rental, kept legal in English.
Casa al Día is a web app for foreigners who own a home in Mexico. It helps you employ your housekeeper, gardener or other household staff the right way, and get the taxes on your vacation rental right. You work in English. Your workers receive their documents in Spanish.
We're starting in Puerto Vallarta and Bahía de Banderas, on both sides of the Jalisco–Nayarit line.
Launching November 2026. Sign-ups aren't open yet. If you have a question in the meantime, write to us at hola@casa-al-dia.com.
Why owners need it
If someone works at your house in Mexico, you're their employer, and that comes with duties: registration with IMSS, Mexico's social security institute; a contract; at least the minimum wage; paid vacation; holiday pay; and a year-end bonus called aguinaldo.
If you rent the house out, the platforms withhold income tax and IVA from your payouts, your state charges a lodging tax, and some places keep a registry of rentals.
All of it is in Spanish, and the rules change every year.
What Casa al Día does
Household staff
- A contract in Spanish with the English translation beside it, so you know what you're signing.
- IMSS registration, guided step by step or done for you by our team.
- A pay stub every pay period, sent to your worker in Spanish.
- Aguinaldo, vacation and holiday pay worked out, with a reminder before each deadline.
Vacation rentals
- A check of what the platforms withhold from you, and the steps that can lower it.
- A monthly tracker that matches the platforms' tax receipts and payouts to your bank deposits.
- A warning as your platform income for the year nears the threshold that decides how you can file.
- Lodging tax on bookings you take directly, and a monthly packet for your contador.
How it works
- You tell us about your home, your staff and your rental once, in English.
- Casa al Día applies this year's rules for your state. Before we use them, a Mexican labor lawyer reviews each year's labor rules, and a contador reviews the IMSS and tax rules.
- You get the documents, the amounts and one calendar of every deadline, with reminders by email, or by WhatsApp if you prefer.
- You pay your workers, IMSS and SAT yourself, directly, and mark each payment done.
What we don't do
- We don't move money. Wages, IMSS contributions and taxes go straight from you to your worker, IMSS or SAT. They never pass through Casa al Día.
- We're not a law firm or an accounting firm. Our amounts are estimates, and each one shows how we calculated it. For advice on your situation, talk to a labor lawyer or a contador.
- We never ask for your SAT password, CIEC or e.firma. If anyone asks for them in our name, don't give them, and tell us.
Fair to your workers
Your workers never need an account. Once you confirm your worker has agreed to receive messages on WhatsApp, Casa al Día sends them their contract and pay stubs there, in Mexican Spanish. If they'd rather not use WhatsApp, they can get them by email. Having their own copies builds trust, and it protects you both if there's ever a disagreement.
